Private Lodge/Jaghuis

Private Lodge/Jaghuis

Once, twice, three times a lady … describes the grande dame of Loodswaai Game Ranch … the elegant, sprawling Private LODGE/JAGHUIS, resplendant with her sparkling pool, well manicured green lawns and listed indigenous trees.

As behoves a dame of regal stature the whisperings of her illustrious passage through time is subtly hinted at with familiar terms of endearment. The ambience exuded by this regal establishment is quiet, unpretentious sophistication.

The Private LODGE/JAGHUIS has afforded Heads of State and Prime Ministers respite from the sultry African sun under the cool of her elongated thatch roof … At night they would congregate in the lapa, seeking succour and insight from the blazing log fire – just out of respectable hearing distance of the grand dame – as they struggled to find solutions for national and international dilemmas.

Like the proverbial mother and father ostrich , the Private LODGE/JAGHUIS has taken all this in her confident stride. Pride of place and instrumental in ensuring that guests languish in comfort are the two spacious lounges on either side of the communal kitchen. Decorated in sublime hints of colonial Africa, these spacious areas enable guests to relax in front of blazing log fires during rare cold spells in winter. During summer heat the patio doors slide open to allow cooling breezes to playfully tease and toy.

Two luxurious bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms lead off each of the lounges. Here guests can relax and revitalise after soaking in a herbal bath whilst they contemplate the thrill of being surrounded by 3500 hectares of unspoilt virgin territory. Breathing deeply they will sense that they have entered the beloved, sacred ground of a family dedicated to the conservation of proudly South African fauna and flora.

As night casts her cloak around the Private Lodge/Jaghuis guests may do well to venture out past the swimming pool onto the gentle sloping lawn to pause and turn their eyes heavenward to behold the night sky cosmos so brilliantly close-by and tangible. The grand silhouette in the background knows that many wishes have been made down there as enthralled guests spotted shooting stars…

As father sun dips on the horison and mother moon begins her nightly vigil the watering hole at the Private LODGE/JAGHUIS always offers guests a tableau of wildlife sipping their thirst quenching cocktail of natural water at sunset.

Nothing surpasses the sight of a solitary, leader of the pack Buffalo Bull – protecting the sanctity of his herd – as he acutely observes your every move through the diamond mesh fence.

Sights and sounds are amplified as nature settles in for the night whilst you wallow with Warthog acumen in the sheer luxury of being present in such unsurpassable beauty. Comforted and nurtured by the grand dame the Private LODGE/JAGHUIS you are bound to return again and again …
